Britney Spears album update – new producers added
It’s been a while since I updated you on Britney Spears seventh album so here you go!
The Queen B is working with K. Briscoe of The Outsyderz again, who produced her #1 comeback single “Womanizer”. Briscoe also recently worked on Timbalands Shock Value II album on “Lose Control” with JoJo and “The One I Love” with Keri Hilson, which further hints that Britney’s new album will have more urban influences.
Also contributing to the new album is songwriter Corte Ellis of the Soul Diggaz, who co-wrote “Get Naked” from Blackout and has previously worked with Fantasia and Monica.
And finally dance DJ David Guetta confirmed that he’s already finished the song with Britney that he was scheduled to work on.
Right now the new album is due in June and other producers attached include Danja, Max Martin, Darkchild, Sean Garrett and many more, but who actually manages to make the final cut will be a different story.
It sounds to me that she’ll be doing pop that has urban crossover potential. What do you think?

I think she wanted Circus to be more urban as well, she wrote a lot of songs for that album which none made the final cut(except for like 2 songs)
Blackout was a masterpiece, I hope she brings it to the next level!

We all know Britney loves urban music from the time jive let her had creativity on her 3rd album and she made it sure it had that urban influence since then! I don’t ever worry about Britney due to she knows a hit when she records her music as much as people like to bring her down! The chick has a knack for slick pop tunes and everything she records is like gold!

Oh and btw this is her 12th year….in October 2010 it will be 12 years since the BOMT single was released and Britney was introduced to the world!

Beyonce is supposed be on a break right now but she is touring, did Tyra Banks, did 60 minutes, performed at the Grammy’s, launched her new fragrance, shot a new nintendo commercial, did two singles “Telephone” and “Put It In a Love Song” and the list goes on.
What has Britney done on her break? Nothing! Oh wait, she went to the grammys, didn’t walk the red cart and just slipped in late around the back not posing for photos.

And for the record I wasn’t dissing Beyonce, I was just using her as an example because you act like Britney isn’t saturating when she isn’t and I was comparing her to some people who saturate. Britney barely even bothered to promote her last album except for a tour I hardly call that saturation lol.

@ the prophet- taking a break doesn’t mean going back into the studio right after ur done touring and 6 months later u have a new album ready. An actual break is what Christina does, Jojo, Pink, Avril Lavigne, Brian McKnight, Justin Timberlake etc…..A break means enjoying life and relaxing w.o the cameras all on u 24/7
I agree with you and take big breaks is very important for the quality of music, but Britney has never really taken many breaks. She only took one slight break before in the zone, and then one in between itz and Blackout. Point is that her music has stayed on the same quality if not much better than many other stars who do take breaks.
And you have to think of it this way. Britney recorded Circus in 2008, and she had NOTHING else really going on in her life so it was probably a relaxed process in terms of the workload. Then she only promoted Circus for a few weeks, took a break, then went on tour and then vanished. All she did was shoot a video for 3 and that was it, and it went #1. She didn’t even promote it on the radio.
Plus her Circus tour wasn’t hectic like Bey and Pinks. It was spaced out and allowed Britney some breaks in between so she would take several weeks off and then resume it.
And since she wrapped the tour what has she done? Nothing. The tour finished last year and she hasn’t done anything since except record. As I said she didnt even walk the red carpet at the grammys. I think she’s had plenty of time to record at her own pace and still have time to chill with her kids and stuff.

I still cant believe that Diddy produced “The Answer,” its the type of song that would sound good on hip hop radio — its hard yet her soft vocals (or lack thereof. haha) fit it very well — overall, hot song. ‘Don’t Hang Up’ is pop perfection — its just a great song, enuff said.
I always thought that “I Run Away” was ANOTHER A M A Z I N G unreleased bonus track. The orchresta background eventually gets dramatically and its just FUCKING EPIC. Its emotional yet beautiful. I can picture it being in an foreign film for some reason — Britney Spears/foreign film in the same sentence, I know!
Say what u want, Britney always brings the heat when it comes to music. Despite her lack of vocals, her energy and way of getting into the music has personified her as an international icon.
she still bores me same producers,blah. i just thought it was absolutely RIDICULOUS wen everyone was making a big deal of her singing u oughta know live. a singer who is actually singing, how ironic (scoffs). that says loads about how the biz is.
not denying she is a hard worker, when she just came on the scene girl could sing and dance her ass off but i feel as time went on she got LAZY, as in she doesnt seem to be putting as much into her performances or choreography, she looks bored on stage.and yall talk about rihanna walking round on stage ahem!
now that she lip syncs all of her songs she has absolutely no excuse for her dancing. she should be kicking ass in dancing.she deff doesnt have the talent she has b4,or maybe she still does but is as i said before getting lazy. id prob get lazy too if i knew i didnt really have 2 work and my fans would still buy my albums and tickets lol. now this probably has alot to do with her troubled personal life and her kids or whatever who knows. i was absolutely disappointed in the 3 video that wasnt the dancing brit i knew in the past.it was bad for her, considering her past and how long shes been in the game imo. but hey its just my opinions

Mary, I think it was more like people were surprised that she sounded so good when she did You Oughta Know. Honestly even I was. She really interpreted the song well to which made it even better. I don’t know why she doesn’t do it more, I think she can’t be bothered. She lacks passion now. I think she’s kind of semi permanently depressed lol

Brit does have her kids back. The children have a father so of course they live with him to. It’s not fair to their father if they are with Britney 100%.
People don’t question when a mother has the kids and they stay with the father for the weekends and holidays, but when it’s the other way around people have a problem with it.

@The Prophet – I was gonna agree with you about B, cause I stan for both B’s – till I remembered that B’s break hadn’t technically started yet. It’s pretty obvious that she meant her break will start AFTER the end of her tour – not before. And the IASF tour only finished on the 18th of this month, so…
Still, I’ve loved every Brit album – all show development of some sort. Still think Blackout>Circus, but both were great. Can’t wait for the 7th one, and it’s true that NOONE can call Princess B overexposed – she’s barely done ANY live TV performances or Award show ones, and practically no interviews.
I don’t get why some of ya’ll think it’s too soon for a new album Circus came out in 2008 so it’ll be almost 2 years when this one is released….thats plenty of time and she’s been recording stuff since July of last year.
Now on to the person who said she’s using the same producers…..wrong she’s never worked with Guetta, Scott Storch, Lucas Secon, or Anntastic, plus she hasn’t had a Darkchild production on an album since 2001……also Chad Beatz and Jon Asher are submitting tracks and she’s never worked with them before either…..I have a feeling tho their stuff won’t get pick cause the track Chad Beatz previewed sucks!
I have no problem with her releasing an album already. She really hasn’t done much besides touring anyway, but I do hope that she is really in a good state this time around. I felt like BO (which is one of her best albums) and Circus were Jive’s doing. I’ve been feeling like she’s just been going through the motions, so it’s best that she doesn’t do a lot of televised performances and is probably why she hasn’t been giving her all on tour. Britney used to be one hell of an entertainer until about 2004. She’s been on the scene for nearly 11 years straight and hasn’t truly taken a break from the spotlight, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she decides to take a long ass break after this new album. She already accomplished so much at the beginning of her career, so maybe she just isn’t inspired anymore. I’ll still enjoy her music, but I won’t be checking for her live.

Well here’s my take on it…I think there can be more than one Queen of Pop, can’t there? I mean, when it comes to enlisting titles here, I simply couldn’t pull myself to STILL refer to Britney as the “Princess of Pop”. Her success and achievements are so beyond the “princess” stage, she really is a queen in her own right. Is she on the same level as Madonna or Janet? Absolutely not, but she’s way above her current contemporaries; the Beyonce’s, Christina’s, Pink’s, etc.
Britney is the Princess of Pop, Madonna is the Queen.

@Brad Britney executive produced Blackout and actually had very little contact with Jive while putting that album together…so she was pretty in control of that project……Circus deff was not what she wanted, I agree that was deff Jive/her managements creation
Yumm, Anntastic isn’t a producer, she an audio engineer. And she has worked with Ann Mincieli before, back in August with Max Martin.
Should be interesting to see how Britney translates to the urban market, especially since dance seems to be the in thing at the moment.
@ Jam no shit they worked together in August…that was for this album. Ann said that she and Max were doing tracks for The Singles Collection and a studio album.
