Ashlee Simpson reunites with John Shanks on upcoming fourth LP.

First, Ashlee Simpson confirmed that she was writing her fourth album (yasssss!), and now, we have our first little scrap of info on the project.

According to Ashlee’s Twitter account, she’s hoping to hit the studio with writer-musician-producer John Shanks. Shanks was a key player in the post-Matrix pop/rock explosion that filled almost half of the last decade, contributing his talents to albums from Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, Michelle Branch, Kelly Clarkson, Liz Phair, Sheryl Crow, and about a billion other people.

Oh, and he worked with Ashlee, too. Yup, John co-produced almost every track from Ashlee’s first two albums ‘Autobiography‘ and ‘I Am Me‘, but was noticeably absent on her urban-pop flop ‘Bittersweet World’.

Is Ashlee returning to pop/rock for her fourth LP? God, I hope so.

    Ashlee has recently registered two new songs that are titled “BACKSTREET DRIVER” and “AINT SAYIN NUTHIN” nothing is confirmed this are just two songs that have recently been copyrighted and were written by Ashlee, also i got news from a producer who said that one of Ashlee’s songs for the new album had been written and finished, the only producer that has been confirmed to work this Ashlee on this album is John Shanks, he also produced Autobiography & I Am Me more news coming soon!

    yes!! I don’t care what no one says, her DEBUT (Which debuted at #1 in the U.S.) was a flawless album, the lyrical content was amazing! Autobiography was my life story, I kid you not.

    I just wanted to say that the only latest news that I can find about Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is that she and Pete Wentz are getting a divorce and that she will be recording her new upcoming album that will have a “Folk feel” with a mature upbeat sound to it. I don’t care if Ashlee got caught lip-synching on Saturay Night Live back in 2004 because it wasn’t he fault that she had acid reflux and that she had to use a backing track to save her singing voice. I’m not going to hold the lip-synching incident against her and neither should anybody else out there because that happened 16 years ago. I will always guard and protect her heart and her music from all of those haters out there because I truly believe that it is my destiny to do so. I also don’t care if her latest album, “Bittersweet World” (that was released on April 22, 2008 over here in he United States of America) had only sold 150,000 copies over here in the United States of America and 220,000 copies worldwide, I love her music with all my heart and I want to spend the rest of my life listening to it because her music has been the best thing that has ever happened to me ever since she came into the music industry back in 2004. Ashlee is one of my most favorite female Pop music artists and songwriters in the music industry, and I’m also one of her most biggest fans who was born and raised over here in the United States of America. I have all 3 of her previous albums and I can’t wait until releases her new upcoming album later on this year because I really want to buy it. I’m pretty sure that the album will sell over 1 million copies over here in the United States of America and worldwide because she has a lot of fans all over the world who really enjoys listening to her music as much as  do. I think that she looks a lot more prettier than her sister, Jessica and my wife, Ashley even if she did have plastic surgery on her nose. End of story.
