Amerie upset over shipping problems with new album!

R&B singer Amerie has taken to Twitter to vent her rage over several shipping problems with her new album In Love & War, which still hasn’t been released to iTunes yet, as well as limited copies being sent to stores.

I rarely curse,but WTF?!?! Itunes made a major”oops”& the album’s still not avail!! Amazon.com does so u can get it thr. Get it right itunes.

If the store ran out of the album, u can download it from amazon.com…I hope u guys love it! : )

Def Jam are a hot mess for this. And you wanna know what’s even worse? Rihanna’s new album over-Rated R made it onto iTunes for pre-order last night without a hitch!

Amerie was already going to have enough trouble selling copies as it is, so for this to happen now is an outrage. How do you have shipping problems to the stores AND iTunes? Sounds fishy to me…

Anyways who bought her new album? I know that I’ll be grabbing my copy as soon as it’s available in Australia.

    I honestly forgot it was coming out today because last I heard about her the album got leaked and this was what 2 weeks ago now? The promo suckkkked. She’ll be lucky to even get a top 10 debut with it or another single at that.

    YEAH! I totally noticed that. I saw Rated R under ‘new releases’ last night and I was like wtf I thought it wasn’t coming out till the 23rd, and then I saw Amerie’s album and it would only let you buy two songs, No15 and 16. I feel so bad for her…. I’m sure that’s the worst thing to happen, especially when you put so much effort into your music.

Even if she can’t leave the label she should be performing all over the country. Her work ethic is not on the level of beyonce…..or she needs to hire matthew knowls

    It’s a shame especially since all of Amerie’s albums have been critically rated MUCH higher than Rihanna’s. This is a huge mistep on Defjam’s part, its not like they’re a new record label that started yesterday, they been doing this too long to mess up like this.

Amerie sweetheart…darling…boo boo….if itunes don’t have your album than your fans can easily click to amazon.com or swing by a store and pick it up I doubt it would be sold out in store or make a difference in how many units you sell or what number you debut at on the charts but HEY I’ve been wrong before.

    I ain’t buying RiRi an her camp having anything to do with this, if anything RiRi is coinciding w/what Chris is doing w/his material not Amerie’s she that is NOT her competition AT ALL

    I was wondering why I didn’t see the album on itunes last night. Dang. That is so messed up! I still will be purchasing the album of course, but itunes is more convenient for me. This does seem extremely fishy, and I have a theory to why this might have happened but I’ll keep it to myself since I have no proof.

    @Josias Are you serious? Come on now, you oughta know by now the only person Matthew will promote is his children and plenty of singers like Lyfe, Tank, and Jon B. have already fired him as their manager for obvious reasons. Why in the heck would she go over there? But I do see your point, I am a Amerie fan and even I can admit I wish she was more agressive with her promotion. If your label is not behind you, work harder at promoting the album on your own. I commended LeToya for doing all that she could on her own, even though her album did not sell well but hey at least she can release a 3rd single so her extra work did help a bit.

    As much as I would like to say I support her; its her fault for signing to Def Jam when they got a history of bullshit going on.

    I say she chalk this up as a lesson learned because she should have known better and when her contact comes up again don’t resign.

    Also I agree with the Beyonce work ethic comment. Don’t take it the wrong way, it has nothing to do with Beyonce .. you can put a lot of other peoples names there (Ciara ethic, etc..) .. but I haven’t seen Amerie perform Why R U or Heard Em All ONCE. Matter fact she needs that Keri Hilson work ethic because when her label was doing her wrong, she still put in work and had one of the more successful R&B albums of the year.

    you’re gonna hate me for saying this prophet but Lady GaGa has one of the best work ethics I’ve seen. she performed in every club in New York until she moved to LA, and then she performed at every club there. eventually she got a TV spot, but she kept promoting at clubs until she got another TV spot, and she kept performing and then she got an opening tour spot, and then she got another TV spot, it just kept piling til the song was finally on radio and finally she got to the big time promotion spots and she just kept pushing “Just Dance” and it finally went to #1 in January of 2009 after being released in April of 2008. that’s why she’s so huge now, she just really really worked at it.

    anyway, back on topic this is really really unfortunate for Amerie and I think somebody better do something about this. she is obviously upset. maybe she should get on some shows for promo and then put Def Jam (or just music labels in general) on blast. stir up some controversy w/ Rihanna (Amerie blows her out of the water) and she’s got herself a hit album haha I’LL MANAGE YOU A!!

    Not only is it not on Itunes but some stores didnt even get it AT ALL!!!!!!! i had to go on a voyage just to get it but i got it. lol

    iTunes fucked up with Womanizer too, 2 days or so after it’s release and it had shot to #1 they removed it all together, it took them like a day to finally add it again. I don’t understand how they can fuck stuff up like that and what’s happening with Amerie

    No it’s not a convenience. Def (Scam) Jam doesn’t give a f*ck. It’s the “golden child” syndrome. They promote the heaviest for the most popular/relevant artists, while the other artists (who may or may not have a better album) get the scraps, and are forced to do their own promotion. But it is what it is. Hopefully I’ll listen to the album soon.

    MikeNMiami, you probably don’t even realize how much money they lost with Rihanna’s first 2 albums. this one finally sold so she probably broke even with all her advances and paying the biggest producers. she is not Def Jam’s biggest seller, maybe eventually (though with this new album I doubt it) but there’s so much you don’t realize. who was Rihanna before? some foreign chick testing out a ton of sounds before she got one that really took off. look at the difference between Pon De Replay, SOS, and Umbrella, she’s just a pawn created to make money and she hit gold eventually.
