Amerie shoots for Honey magazine

The beautiful & very photogenic Amerie is the latest lady to score a feature in Honey Magazine, where she dishes out some relationship advice, plugs her new album In Love & War, discusses Twitter, and talks about why she moved to Def Jam.

The reason I went to Def Jam was specifically because of the company — their marketing and promotions team. [Source]

I guess Amerie has been deaf and blind living under a rock in Siberia for the past ten years, because if she had any contact with the human race she’d know that the only females that get promoted at Def Jam are Rihanna and Mariah.

Maybe Amerie should have a chat to Electrik Red some time?

She looks gorgeous once again. But, yeah… Def Jam. I despise the day she every went to them. I rather her to have went independent than to go with them. Real artist should be independent anyway, if they don’t want to be TURNED out by the industry & become another Gimmicky, Manufactured artist *Smh*

  2. The Prophet Says:

I envision her as an independant artist as well… It’s hard for her because she isn’t “indie” enough to appeal to that crowd, but she isnt commercial enough to appeal the mainstream crowd. It’s hard for her.

  7. den Says:

I guess she’s still hoping lol.

  8. divatude Says:

they spent her budget on rihannas performance at the amas

  9. tupey Says:

I agree with you Prophet shes kind of like Vanessa Carlton to indie for mainstream but to mainstream for indie.

  10. hey Says:

    I agree divatude
i said in the chatroom during the ama’s that rihanna’s intro video before her performance alone cost more than they invested into Amerie’s entire promo

  11. MusicatedOne Says:

She needs to go indie…but what y’all fail to realize is that she needs to get rid of her manager (Nas old manager). When she went to a new label she should have started off completely fresh and new.

Also she is not directly under Def Jam…she is under her own company through Def Jam so a lot that is done is through her management (which sucks). So she won’t get the same treatment as someone directly on the label.

  12. jakub Says:

i feel so sorry 4 her
she’s makes much better music than rihanna
and sure as hell will outsing her
she deserves at least keri hilson or keyshia cole’s success

  13. JP Says:

She makes me consider a NOSEJOB!
    Hers worked soo good :P
