Amerie performs “Why R U” on 106 & Park
Amerie performed her single “Why R U” on BET’s 106 & Park today as part of the promotion for her new album In Love & War.
Amerie SLAYED! She really made up for that messy “Heard Em All” performance from Wendy Williams. Vocally she was on point, and she really went in with those head spins. She also got the crowd involved and just sung the song with a lot of passion and energy, which is the same feeling I get when I listen to the song on blast at home or on my MP3 player.
I’m actually shocked because I’ve never paid that much attention to her performances before and I never thought that she was much on stage, but she really opened my eyes with this. Amerie needs to do this more often then maybe people would actually go pick up her album.

OMG, she fuckin MURKED. I love her voice, and I always loved her, and this is a perfect example Y. She fuckin SANG the shit out of that, and she basically always rocks the stage, it may not be not like or compared to other artist, but she still rocks it.
I loved it .. she is sooo hot, she has soo much potential to be a big critically aclaimed star. Will her name ever be mentioned with Beyonce or Britneys? Nah but I don’t see why she can’t have Keri Hilson or Chrissette Michelle type success. This performance should have been done in July, and more of them should have been done she should have done more radio runs and whatnot. Then Heard Em All in September and the album release date is set but no ones really checking for Amerie.

And yeah she deserves Keri’s level of success, tho Keri is starting to get really big, she’s been the hottest thing out for a minute now. We’ll see if she can keep it up on her sophomore album.
If Keri keeps doing songs like I like, she’ll only get bigger. Amerie should be bigger, point blank.

She took a few steps into screeching/screaming territory, but she brought it back. I like the song now because of this performance. I’m surprised it had more energy than the uptempo Heard Em All.
