Alicia Keys performs, poses and promotes her new album around the world
Th beautiful Alicia Keys was snapped in Japan yesterday (pictured above) promoting her new album The Element of Freedom, which was just one stop of many on the R&B diva’s worldwide promotional tour.
Keys was also in France recently to perform the album cut “Distance & Time”, and on AOL sessions to give an amazing performance of “Unthinable (I’m Ready)”. Both can be viewed below.
AK will be releasing two new singles soon; “Empire State of Mind Part II” in Europe, and “Put It In a Love Song” featuring Beyonce for the US.
Despite first two singles “Doesn’t Mean Anything” and “Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart” crashing and burning Alicia’s album The Element of Freedom is doing quite well, this week reaching 840k in the US alone.
How much further do you think she can take the album?
i actually really like the album … This is the first of hers Ive liked … Glad its doing well in sales but how in the world do you do that well in sales without a hit single? Prophet … DO TELL!
AK has nothing to worry about as far as sales. As we can see she doesn’t need a song to be #1 to be successful. Her names sales on it’s own which is why her album will be platinum after only almost a month after release
Put it in a Love Song will skyrocket her album sales to the heavens above!
@ the prophet—btw Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart reached #21 on the hot 100 chart and #9 on the r&b chart. Better than Doesn’t Mean Anything did!
Distance & Time is a BEAUTIFUL song. And I really don’t like Unthinkable…..
i listen to TSWBH every day that song is the bomb i wonder y it isnt higher on the hot 100 and tik tok is? that baffels me

Put it in a Love Song will help, but Unthinkable may be the song that completely makes it bananas.
Element of Freedom really isn’t an album of singles anyway. It tends to be cohesive as an entire album.
And even though she herself didn’t score a big hit, Empire State of Mind is still huge.
AK just keeps doing her own thing and not following the latest trends.
personally she is lucky her fan base is strong..her new album compared to the old ones sucked..sorry i bought it and can only listen to a few songs..that beyonce track is pure garbage and doubt it will make anything skye rocket..she may atleast have a single do better than all the others though…
this will be her least selling album IMO..it is still selling but has almost peaked..

I haven’t gotten into her album yet, but that’s normal for me because it always takes me ages to get into AK’s albums so I’m not worried.
so far the only song besides the fist two singles that sticks out to me is Unthinkable. It’s AMAZING!
I tried to listen to Put It In A Love Song just before as I did this post, and I realise I don’t like it that much. It’s so poppy and it’s not AK’s style, it reminds me of one of Beys disposable singles, and honestly it’s no single ladies.

why is “Try sleeping with a Broken Heart” not being released in Europe. All sources state that it is one of the best songs on the album?
well I Gotta say Alicia this time was unexpected, I Got mixed feelings about miss Keys…plz answer them…but does anybody realise she’s like the male version of Hov..dressing in all black and acting all bad…yet her music really isnt, its like $ finally g0t 2 her head big :Ego? dont get me wr0ng cause im still a fan but if she goes even m0re mainstream that’ll b a shame,She needs 2 do other colabs with artist that make music with meaning…n0t $ hungry B and Jay drake..just cause there big rite now So didnt think that was her…Thats my 0nly issue
Hopefully Unthinkable is released as a single after Put It In A Love Song, because Unthinkable is one of the best songs on the album
