Alicia Keys performs new single “Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart”

It isn’t the best quality, but some sneaky snake managed to film Alicia Keys performing her new single “Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart” from the Keep a Child Alive Black Ball over the weekend. The song is taken from Alicia’s fourth album The Element of Freedom, and was produced by Jeff Bhasker, who was behind most of Kanye Wests 808′s & Heartbreak album. Check it out.

This song sounds like it’s going to be epic, and even better than “Doesn’t Mean Anything”. It sounds really emotional and empowering. I can’t wait for it to leak.

    the song is amazing!! i thought it was gonna follow the same formula as Like You’ll Never See Me Again. boy was i wrong!

    i wish she’d have taken better care of DMA! it could have at least been top 20. this is song tho, is a potential SMASH! she sounded amazing too!

    dont count Alicia out, bring on, The Element of Freedom!

    I really don’t like DMA at all. I think it’s a really weak song and it doesn’t have much potential. I’m scared to watch this because I don’t wanna hype up her next single and get disappointed again. But I have high hopes for her new album – As I Am was a classic and I hope she doesn’t try and go for the same thing in a formulaic way, in the manner that Mimi tried to recreate Emancipation with E=MC2.

    Where is her video? Anyways. Alicia is still on top this is a beautiful song. EPIC IS The PERFECT WORD… ALICIA IS AN ICON.

    hmmm yeah it sounds better than Doesn’t Mean Anything but doesn’t make me feel impatient to hear it in HQ
    the piano at the end was nice tho

    i wonder why she doesn’t go back to the un comercial sound of her first album, soul-jazz at its finest, after all that’s what made her a superstar…

    I absolutely LOVE the emotion and passion in the song. It really makes you feel “something”…whatever that something is for you. I can’t wait to get the album.
    As far as her going back to her soul-jazz way of singing. It’s called evolving and growing. That’s not a bad thing. Jay Z said it best, “N@#$ want my old sh@t, buy my old albums.”

    @stan i didnt say she was going too comercial, actually if her new songs were comercial at least DMA wouldn’t have flopped like it has (so far it’s nowhere near iTunes top100 and the airplay audience has been the same for 2 weeks already)
    i think the only problem is these new songs aren’t engaging enough

    and once the video gets released it will probably do better
