Agnes returns with “All I Want Is You”

Back in May, Swedish songstress Agnes made a shock transformation into a dark synthpop diva for her depressing power ballad “One Last Time”. I guess most people weren’t feeling Agnes’ change of tune as much as they should’ve, because the flawless single only peaked at No. 33 on the official Swedish charts. So, now she’s back with a new dance track, “All I Want Is You”, that’s a lot closer to what loyal Scandipop lovers have come to expect from Idol starlet.
With it’s symphonic club sound, “All I Want Is You” harks back to Release Me era Agnes, but with a much more emotional energy. It’s less disco balls and glitter this time around, and more Robyn Body Talk. Agnes sounds as devastatingly beautiful as always, and her heartfelt lyrics will surely have gays across the world grabbing the nearest stranger on the dancefloor and falling into a drug-induced love stupor for at least a few minutes whenever the song comes on at the club.
As a not-so-big fan of Scandipop, I never thought I’d say this, but it looks like Agnes’ upcoming Veritas album could very well be one of the best pop releases of the year.
