Adele’s 21 has now sold a billion trillion copies

The numbers for Adele‘s post-Grammys sales surge are in, and Jesus Christs, are they big.
According to Hits Double Daily, 21 will shift approximately 716,000 copies this week in the States alone, giving it the best sales week since Lil’ Wayne somehow managed to sell almost a million copies of his hit-and-miss Carter IV album last September.
Total US sales for 21 now stand at over 7 million, while worldwide sales have surpassed 18 million.

Adele’s far superior 19 has also got a boost from the Grammys, with sales of 86k this week inching it closer to double platinum status in the States.
Adele’s insane sales don’t end there, though. Homegirl just snagged Best Album and Best British Female at the Brit Awards, setting her up for massive sales surge back home.
It looks like Billboard’s prediction of a Diamond certification down the line is going to come true. Is Flusher going to flip out and lose his lacefront when 21 inevitably overtakes Confessions as America’s last Diamond album?
