Adele confirms “Someone Like You” as next single.

Adele fans have a reason to rejoice today with the confirmation that “Someone Like You” will serve as the second official single from the soul diva’s upcoming sophomore album 21.

The tearjerker has been floating around online since November when Adele performed it live on Jools Holland, and has become a firm fan favorite ever since.

In a new interview with the NY Post, Adele explains the meaning behind the ballad.

Adele revealed that this track came about when she “was feeling pretty miserable and pretty lonely.” Going on to say that the entire record is about this one relationship and this song in particular sums up how she was affected by this person.

Adele concluded by saying,” I can imagine being about 40, looking for him again … and he is settled with a beautiful wife … and I am still on my own.”

This song is gonna be huge for Adele. Who agrees with me?

By the way, don’t expect this to come out right away. “Rolling in the Deep” is still a week away from it’s official UK release.

    I love this song and i’m so happy that Adele is getting such praise for her new stuff. She just went away and made the best honest record she could and it’s paying off.
    I can’t wait for the album to drop! heard them playing “Rolling in the Deep” today i was so excited lmao :P

    This song is so personal, reminds me of someone in my life too. It’s gonna be easy for everyone to relate to and I can definitely see it being a smash in the UK, hopefully she’ll blow up more in the US also!

    This song is quite possibly the best of her career to date. Although, “Hometown Glory” runs a close second, or maybe even a tie.
