Adam Lambert thinks Susan Boyle’s music is “horrendous”

Susan Boyle may have sold over 8 million copies of her debut album I Dreamed a Dream and made fans out of everyone from Lady GaGa and 50 Cent to Oprah and Snoop Dogg, but one person who doesn’t love Auntie Susie is American Idol Queen Adam Lambert, who’s debut album also happened to be released on the same day as Susan’s back in November.

“If only it weren’t for Susan Boyle! I’m happy for her success, but that album is terrible,” he told Gay Times.

“‘Wild Horses’ is the one that made me laugh the hardest. I just died when I heard it, I was crying with laughter. It was the most horrendous, sacrilegious treatment of that song!” he said. {source}

Just for the record my Mum is a die-hard Rolling Stones fan and see’s them live every single time they come to Australia, and she’s been a Stones fan for a hell of a lot longer than Glambert has, and even she likes Susie’s cover just as much (if not more) than the original.

Susan’s album isn’t as bad as Adam is making out and obviously the general public agree since it’s sold over 8 million copies in a time when it’s a big deal just to make Gold or Platinum.

I think Auntie Susie should record a diss track and hit back at all her haters!

    I actually agree with him, but partly. I think most of her covers are non appropriate (Madonna KILLED You’ll See and Susie didn’t even come close to her, and her voice is 100 times better than Madonna’s) for most time.

    She’s singing every song like hymn. It just sounds forced on most songs. You’re not supposed to sing You’ll See like you are singing national anthem

    I agree with him that album was just horrible! He’s not bitter cause he brought the album and listened to it I brought it and I have it to my grandmother who liked it! Some of her covers were atrocious at best she sold because of that talent show she was on and people were impress with her voice! But geez gave her some material of her own to sing smh!

    Adam has every right to say he doesn’t like the album, but I think he went too far. He could’ve been a little more polite about it and many hardcore music fans think her cover of Wild Horses was beautiful. That song has been covered countless times and her version is the best out of all the covers by a mile.

    If you take a step back and think about the fact that both Lambert’s and Boyle’s albums were released the same week — and that hers sold more in its first week than his has altogether now — it’s really easy to predict where Lambert’s vitriol might be coming from.

    Methinks he’s jilted because *he* was counting on getting that number one debut that Boyle managed to snag instead. I’m sure no one in his camp dreamed that he wouldn’t be able to topple her.

    It was to make headlines, and they were going to try and market it to the hilt: “Openly gay Lambert breaks the social barrier with his #1 album.”

    From there, the hype [Lambert's camp were probably projecting] would have been similar to what we’re seeing with Ke$ha. Then the very unglamourous, middle aged Boyle, with her album of melodramatic, dinner-theater covers, thwarted all that.

    Damn her. She ruined the plan.

    From there it seems like it’s been more valley’s than peaks for Lambert. His album sales aren’t matching the pre-hype…ever since his tacky performance at the AMA’s, he’s been under recurring media scrutiny…is getting next to no radio airplay…and the public is seeming to more and more lose interest in him.

    Adam’s house of cards just isn’t stacking up the way they all planned…and it all seemingly began when Boyle’s album managed to flagrantly outperform his when they went head to head.

    Proph, that’s exactly what I’m talking about – Her You’ll See cover is epic. And it isn’t supposed to be. She sang every song in that epic tone and it just sounds pathetic on most songs. Songs like You’ll See aren’t made to sound epic.
