Adam Lambert and Kelly Clarkson confirm their next singles

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert has confirmed that the next single from his Gold-certified debut album For Your Entertainment will be the Max Martin produced “If I Had You”.

The song is the follow-up to “Whataya Want From Me” which has so far reached #31 on the Hot 100 and is still rising each week.

Meanwhile after a lot of deliberating the winner of the very first American Idol Kelly Clarkson will release “All I Ever Wanted” as the fourth single from her album of the same name. The song will hit radio in March.

Both songs are great choices and I hope they do well on the charts. You’ve probably already heard “All I Ever Wanted” by now so check out Glambert’s “If I Had You” below instead.

I love (All i ever wanted) but i have to say i would’ve prefered (Don’t Let Me Stop You)!
I pretty much lost interest in Adam for some reason.. i still haven’t given his album a proper listen..

i love all i ever wanted! when i first heard the album that song really stuck out. i wanted if i can’t have you. however, the more i thought about it the more i’m happy it’s AIEW. there’s a huge void right now in pop/rock right now, since everyone is now gravitating toward dance type songs. i think AIEW will do what SUBG did – give her a little indie cred that even those stuck up “indie” folks will enjoy.

I’m just glad to have something from Kelly on the radio. Adam is starting to grow on me but I can take or leave him, and still go on with my day.

  9. Tyler Says:

    Ugh… Hate both choices.

  10. Jarrod Says:

I don’t like that choice for Kelly IMO. It’s a good song but not by far the best single choice on the album. I would have preferred ‘Don’t Let Me Stop You’ or ‘If I Can’t Have You’. Much stronger choices. Kelly could get a lot of attention off DLMSY which is reminiscent of ‘Behind These Hazel Eyes’ and IICHY is a fantastic dance track. She hasn’t had one of those before. I was for certain that would have made a single but her label sucks.

  11. Jen Says:

stupid stupid stupid why wouldnt she release “dont let me stop you” thats one of the best songs on the album.

  12. Ash Jones Says:

    Gutted.
Kelly Clarkson should have released a dual single “Dont Let Me Stop You” / “Long Shot”.

Im really disappointed that “All I Ever Wanted” is the last single from the album although it is a gr8 song its just not a great last single choice.

i also like the fact that it’s the title track so that could help boost album sales. i like the song because as cliche as it is she said all she ever wanted was just to sing and this song (even though it’s a cover by Aranda) means that to her. after the whole My December thing, there’s a line that says “all i ever wanted was an in-between to escape this desperate scene” i think AIEW is that in between.
plus, it’s cute that her fellow AI friend, tamyra gray was the one who sent her this song (gray’s husband was one of the co-writers/producers of this song) it was also the first song she recorded for the album. nice way to end the AIEW era.

  17. RandomEnigma Says:

    @ Jlosman2nv,

My God, it really does sound like Wear My Kiss.

  18. dan Says:

the beginning of adams song is exactly wear my kiss

  19. Nana Says:

Wear my Kiss mash up with if i had you would be hot!!!

All I ever wanted sux. If i had you rox

Im New Zealand they scrapped that song for the next single and chose “ready” for mainstream radio, while another radio station used “don’t let me stop you” as the fourth single. I think All I Ever Wanted was a bit overrated- first two singles were great tho
