Adam Lambert addresses AMA controversy “It’s discrimination! People are scared and it’s sad!”

It’s now been a whole day since Adam Lambert’s questionable American Music Awards performance, which saw Glambert spontaneously kissing his straight male keyboardist, and you know what that means right? Time to explain your actions to the press!

“You know honestly, if I offended some people… it’s apples and oranges. I’m not an artist that does things for every single person. I believe in artistic freedom and expression, I believe in honoring the lyrics of a song, and those lyrics aren’t really for everybody either.”

“If it’s gonna be edited, then in a way that’s discrimination. I don’t mean to get political, but Madonna, Britney and Christina weren’t edited,” Adam said. “It’s a shame. Female entertainers have been risqué for years. Honestly, there’s a huge double standard.””

“People are scared and it’s really sad. I just wish people could open their minds up and enjoy things”.

I think Glambert is missing the point that the reason people didn’t like the performance was because it was a tacky hot mess with awful vocals! Why do my fellow gays constantly have to use the “discrimination” card when they do something wrong and then get in trouble for it?

Anyways you can get another dose of the glamorous one when he performs “Whataya Want From Me” on David Letterman tomorrow. Should be interesting!

Ok .. I know, I know I always bring up Beyonce but this is a true story. I started reading this and out of nowhere starting singing Sugar Mama to myself … that is just how much this article grabbed my attention. The discrimination card is so yawn, he was terrible .. the vocals are the reason I didn’t like it .. nothing else.

While he does have a point, but on the other hand .. MTV and ABC are two different networks so while Britney, Madonna, and Christina got away with it .. that was on MTV.

  2. Dre Says:

that’s right Adam! stand up for what you believe in! i loved his performance and i didnt think it was tacky.

  3. barf Says:

Adam’s right, a part of the negative response to his performance is due to homophobia/people rejecting a gay man singing this type of song, doing this type of performance.

That being said, the performance sucked. Awful vocals, awful “choreography,” and the “shocking” elements just didn’t work and felt out of place!

Why do gays use the discrimination card? Because this is a homophobic world and it applies in so many instances, including this one. but it doesn’t save his awful performance.

  4. The Prophet Says:

Well maybe Adam should take responsibility for a bad performance rather than just assuming it’s all down to discrimination because he’s gay.

  5. barf Says:

I completely agree! he should own up to it, it was awful haha

  6. synthheavy Says:

why is no one appalled that adam forcefully kissed his STRAIGHT male keyboardist..i would’ve filed for sexual assault if a gay guy forcefully did that to me on live tv.

  7. Gymjunki3 Says:

His an animal- we don’t wanna see tack, desperate filth rubbed in our faces! He should be sent to afganistan……

  8. gymjunki3 Says:

Yeah the keyboard played should definatley lay sexual & aggrivated assult charges against this preditor!

  9. barf Says:

“sent to afghanistan”??? what does that even mean??

and I’m sure the kiss was a planned part of the performance. don’t worry synthheavy, gay men have better things to do than trying to forcefully kiss your homophobic ass.

  10. Dre Says:

    lmao @ barf! really!
like he just THAT irresistible! nigguh please!

  11. fareth Says:

Adam did admit his singing was a bit pitchy due to the bad sound monitor.

  12. Sha Says:

I love adam but i hated this performance!

  13. vmars08 Says:

Please. He didn’t do anything Madonna & Britney haven’t done, together or separate. So maybe the BJ move was a little inappropriate for network television… like Adam said, it ain’t that big of a deal! He was a little pitchy, but he killed it at the end vocally & it was his first performance, he was nervous, give the guy a break! He put on a show & turned out one of the night’s highlights.

  14. MikeNMiami Says:

Bitch pahleeze!!! Don’t you give me that shit!!! That performance was disturbing and I’m gay myself!

  15. MADDONLINE2_0 Says:

musically i will say this… it was not a great performance….

    NOW!

you cant be one sided about what he said. people were more disturbed by the gay actions and NOONE can deny that! and if you have been watching all major news circuits in the US the focus has been on “oral sex” in Lambert performance… women been kissing and rubbing on tv ,when is that acceptable and not?… if it was katy perry and some other hot chick the response in this post would be totally different!

and yes i totally agree that the guy who was forced into his crock should sue… but i sure as hell didn’t see that piano played pull back from that sloppy shit.

this is just another case of misjudgement on lamberts behalf but then again a case of homophobia on everyone else behalf… and the gay people are really trippin me out on this one as if yall dont kiss men or better yet shove your dicks in other mens mouths on or off TV.

lastly… next yall will be bitching that cable tv dont give the gay community enough shine… nuff said….

  16. licia Says:

i don’t care that adam is gay .i’m proud of him for being happy with who he is . i would have been p*ssed had a straight person done the same things he was doing . he went too far point blank .

  17. Chris Says:

idcc!!! he is soo hot! plus he’s right women get to do that and get away with it! For example, that lesbian kiss with Britney and Madonna! WTF!!! seriously!! but I will say this: ppl arent ready for this type of stuff to happen yet. Maybe in another 50 years LMAO

  18. divatude Says:

he wants to talk abt discrimination um remember when janet flashed her boob at the superbowl and the fcc and all those losers came after her i wonder y nobody came after him he didnt get fined or anything o yea i 4got hes white

he needs to go sit down somewhere

  19. MADDONLINE2_0 Says:

@divatude are you serious? because he’s white?

    BAHAAHAAAHAHAH!!!!

what exactly can they do? nothing all he did was kissed a man… only homophobes would have a problem with that…

he didn’t violate any law… if they do say something that gives him grounds to call discrimination and possibly sue.

thats why the media should be very careful what wording they use for this.

  20. divatude Says:

so showing ur boobs is worse than rubbing ur crotch in someones face? i dont get it

  21. MADDONLINE2_0 Says:

that was nudity… not saying that everything that happened to janet was deserving.

the jesture has been don over and over and over again on tv… what makes it any different from a male doing it to a female…

  22. gymjunki3 Says:

    @barf

He should be sent to afganistan so he can learn what a real man is & what real men do! Is he really gonna stare down at us from that stage like a man, he don’t know what real men do, real men sacrifice!

A week with the taliban should set him straght *no pun intended*

  23. Andres Says:

“I believe in honoring the lyrics of a song, and those lyrics aren’t really for everybody either”
Thank you asshole, that’s is discrimination too idiot, I love his voice and his album is good…but saying this is stupid, music is for everybody to enjoy, he is know been stupid and anoying.

  24. Andres Says:

and he is just been stupid, his perfomance was banned cuz it’ was too sexual and obscene..but they left the kiss, but they cut the oral sex simulation, so he is been banned for been a pig not for been gay that’s is just stupid.
