2NE1 strike a pose in “I Love You” promo photo

When 2NE1 first dropped the individual black & white concept photos for their new single “I Love You” last week, I thought that they looked like hot basic messes, but now that the full color group shot has dropped, I’m loving their new look.

CL always gives me everything, I like that they’re staying consistent with Bom by always having her in tight dresses, and I’ll even give Dara a pass for that outdated Cassie haircut because at least she’s finally rocking a style that truly suits her. Don’t get me wrong: I don’t mind if people dress younger than they are, like Sulli or Carly Rae Jepson, but after seeing how smoking hot Dara looked in Taeyang’s “I Need a Girl” music video, I could never accept her with those stupid mohawks and hideous Jeremy Scott ensembles. Minzy is the only one who’s still in need of a makeover in this photo, but it won’t matter too much what she’s wearing once she starts poppin’ it and droppin’ it on stage like usual.

2NE1′s last era was so disjointed and messy, with repeated pushbacks, a not-so-interesting concept, and an album that had absolutely zero cohesion, but I have a feeling that YG have learned from their mistakes and that “I Love You” will run much smoother. If the underrated “Scream” and BIGBANG’s last comeback is anything to go by, this should be good.

There’s just so much tough competition right now. Super Junior and their crazy bulk buying stans are back, digital monsters T-ara are right around the corner, and SISTAR are proving to be formidable foes. “Loving U” isn’t SISTAR’s best song, but their concept is flawless and they’re more talented than 2NE1, so they’re definitely one to watch out for.

    i love love love the concept photos. I love what they’re wearing and they all look gorgeous especially Dara. I do agree that the outdated Cassie look is overrated but it looks really good on Dara. She kind of resembles BoA when BoA had that similar look for the (I did it for love, Energetic) days. As for Minzy, she does need a makeover. They need to give her an edgier hairstyle and I would like her to also wear dresses too. Or even a dress. Hopefully this era doesn’t dissappoint. Thank goodness for no cartoon drawings.. concepts! I’m over that ish.

    I’m ready for 2NE1 to take over and knock out Super Junior out because their new album is a mess! 2NE1 only have to worry about T-Ara and I think they can do better than Sistar.

    NOW Dara?!…this look right chea…SHE OWNED IT! It’s simple yet edgy…not too much of either like she’s done in the past. I wouldn’t mind if she kept this style for future album promotions…

    I’m excited for this. And i want them to wear more outrageous jeremy scott outfits while performing. They can wear normal clothes when they’re off-stage. And i do hope they do a cutesy concept. I’m sure they’ll give their own spin to the cutesy concept.

    T-ara probably won’t win in music shows while 2ne1 and super junior are promoting, but long after those two groups are gone, t-ara will be winning. And they’ll probably give boa and psy a win or two in between. T-ara is just generous that way.

    If sistar beats f(x) in the music shows this week, i think it’s safe to say that they’re one of the top girl groups now.

    “an album that had absolutely zero cohesion” it just had variety. they said over and over while promoting it that the album had several different styles because they like to switch it up. and every song was flawless. and sistar being more talented doesn’t matter because they’re basic and their song is awful. well, being more talented doesn’t matter either way, especially in kpop.

    There’s a difference between variety and no cohesion. Their mini-album sounded like a hits package, like a bunch of random singles stuck together, rather than a musically diverse but cohesive body of work.

    Not saying it was bad, but I prefer albums that feel more like a body of work, even when it means not all the tracks are single worthy.

    After I listened to the leaked song of I LOVE YOU, omfg…Did I just heard few madly drunker after the wild party???? Not to being rude, but I expected more than UGLY or I DON’T CARE..sigh….

    But as a QUEEN’S, a die hard fan of T-ARA, I bet SLAY-ARA will slash the music charts with their katana of Day By Day..

    Actually Minzy is the one i’ve found very charming here. Simple but quite elegant. Very young classy, i love that. Bom dress is awful, its color is too flashy in front of the others outfits.

    The photo looks like bad modeling 101 but I am jelly of their clothes tbh (excepts bom’s dress…no thank you)… the styling is perfect.
